Pursuing Higher Education with MHF4U Advanced Functions Credit Course


How many credits to graduate from high school in Ontario? Do you want to know if you have enough credits to get a high school diploma and eventually be accepted into your dream university and program? 

According to the Ministry of Education, you must complete a minimum of 30 credit courses in Mississauga plus 40 hours of community involvement to complete secondary high school. Eighteen of those 30 credits are compulsory and essential in English, Maths, Science, History, Geography, Arts, Health and Physical Education, French, career studies, and civics. The 12 remaining credits are optional. Meaning, you have the freedom to select from the courses that are available in your school.  

If you are in your 12th grade and are looking for a course that will prepare you for Mathematics for College, enroll in MHF4U Advanced Functions. It is designed to take your foundational knowledge in functions to the next level. That way, you can enter engineering and other math-related programs with strong math skills and excellent preparation. It’s more accessible to ace entrance exams when you have a good foundation.  

Advanced Functions is one of the high school courses that you should be taking if you want to be successful in higher-level mathematics. It is a prerequisite for many university programs. While it is intended for Calculus and Vectors students, it is also for other students who are still exploring their options. MHF4U lets you investigate further topics such as polynomial, rational, trigonometric, exponential, and logarithmic functions. Most schools offer 110 hours of MHF4U. This includes teaching instruction time and evaluations.  

International schools offer preparatory courses as well as credit courses in Mississauga. These are the schools you should be considering if you want to be taught by highly qualified and experienced instructors.
